The 22nd Edition of world cup is going to be held at Qatar from 20 November – 18 December in which 32 teams in 5 host cities.
This will be the first World Cup ever to be held in the Arab world, and the second World Cup held entirely in Asia after the 2002 tournament in Japan & South Korea.
This World Cup will be held from late-November to mid-December, due to Qatar’s intense summer heat.
The first match will between Qatar and Ecuador at Al Bayt Stadium, Al Khor.
Most awaited final will be held on 18 December 2022, which is also Qatar National Day.

On 19 May 2022, FIFA has announced the list of 36 referees, and 69 assistant referees and 24 video assistant referees for the tournament.
Very first time FIFA included two each from Argentina, Brazil, England and France.
Yoshimi Yamashita from Japan, Salima Mukansanga from Rwanda and Stéphanie Frappart from France, became the first female referees to be appointed to a men’s World Cup.

There will be 8 stadium on which matches will be played. They are
Groups A, B, E, F: Al Bayt Stadium, Khalifa International Stadium, Al Thumama Stadium, Ahmad bin Ali Stadium
Groups C, D, G, H: Lusail Iconic Stadium, Stadium 974, Education City Stadium, Al Janoub Stadium
The tournament’s opening match will be between Qatar vs Ecuador on 11 August.

Tournament mascot was officially announced on 1April 202. its name is Laʼeeb, which is an Arabic word meaning “super-skilled player”.

The official match ball, the “Al Rihla”, was unveiled on 30 March 2022. The ball is of Addidas.
